Arrival of new poultry and more

No lambs yet think a few days off. 

Last night I went to animal auction today I enjoyed my new arrivals. A pair of Aylesbury ducks, 18 duck eggs now in incubator, 7 hens and a cockerel . No fighting has taken place and they looked all impressed with theit new digs.

The fence in field number 2 is now secure. Once these disobedient ewes lamb and lambs old enough they can graze in field number two. Leaving space for project pig. 

Vegetables all coming on well in polytunnel. 

Found some potatoes coming through from last years planting that I didn’t dig up. Pleasant surprise early spuds! 

Very productive couple of days! 

Kts acres update

I made a new door for the polytunnel

Week proud of my new doors and they fit together. A few bits to add to make them winter proof. 

Sheep still pregnant anytime from 28th think have a few days to go! 

Seeds sowed in  polytunnel. Been a productive day. 

New chickens tomorrow hopefully 

The very kind offer of use of a field nr mine for sheep to graze once they have lambed. Very kind Help acquired to secure/mend fencing in said field. 

What a fantastic start to this years season!

Carrots are looking good. Strawberries haven’t been killed by the sheep thankfully. Gooseberries starting to bud. Herbs coming out. 

Honey bees feed. 

Chillies potted on all looking good. Fingers crossed for a good season. 

Empty field.

Got to field this pm no sheep. The escape artists! Shouted ‘sheep’ heard a Barr from next door field! Discovered a gap in the fence. After scrambling over barb fence and up banking falling on arse and shaking a feed bucket all at the same time. Sheep standing on my toes what a sight I finally got the stupid sheep back Patched up the fence. apologised to neighbour. stupid sheep!!! 

Season start

Started this years season. Chillies, tomatoes peppers seeded. Potatoes chitting. 

Pallette fence complete

My recycled palette fence is now complete. Sheep and Bunny proof from my veg. (as much as you can bunny proof.)

Cost me about £20 to make.  Even has a gate! All recycled Pallettes hence the differing sizes but does the job and the guy selling the Pallettes gives the money made on the Pallettes to charity. So happy days. The fence also stood up to the bad wind we just had. So proud of my handy work. 

The sheep are back from their holifdays 

Fruit bushes

Down on kts acres fruit bushes planted. 

Blueberry, red current, black currant, white current, gooseberry, raspberries to complement the strawberries and rhubarb! 

2 sheep behaving. Cockerel being lazy, duck needs ladies and hens have stopped laying. All slowing down on the acres. The ewes enjoying the 18-30,s hol
